摘要： This part of ISO 15930 specifies the use of the Portable Document Format (PDF) for the dissemination of complete digital data, in a single exchange, that contains all elements necessary for final print reproduction. These exchanges will support both colour-managed workflows and traditional CMYK workflows.

摘要： A main component of branding is to link a brand name to nonverbal cues that facilitate brand name memory. The authors examine the integration in memory of auditory and visual brand identifiers with brand names written in the logographic Chinese script compared with the alphabetic English script. The first experiment compares native Mandarin speakers living in China with native English speakers living in the United States. The second experiment examines bilingual Cantonese-English speakers living in Hong Kong. The results of the experiments suggest that visual brand identifiers are integrated in memory more easily with Chinese brand names, whereas auditory brand identifiers are integrated in memory more easily with English brand names. These results are of theoretical interest because they demonstrate that writing systems affect cognitive processes that are involved in the integration of words with nonverbal information. The results are of practical interest because they suggest that the relative success of auditory and visual brand identity strategies is affected by differences in writing systems.

摘要： My thanks to Kurt Molholm and his ICSTI colleagues for the invitation topresent DOI at a meeting on the digital preservation of the record of science. Whilst I am not anexpert on the topics of archiving and preservation, I believe that many of the issues which we haveencountered in developing the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system are common to preservationsdiscussions; and many of the communities represented at this conference, such as the STM publishingcommunity, the scientific communities, and the metadata communities, have been very active incollaborating with us. Issues of persistence and the solutions to it - such as separation of theproblem into components, and the recognition that persistence is fundamentally a socialinfrastructure rather than a technology infrastructure problem - have been fundamental designprinciples of information identifiers that influenced COI [1]. Equally, the importance of uniqueidentification has been recognised by the digital preservation community. [2].

摘要： Epilepsy affects >0.5% of the world's population and has a large genetic component. The most common human genetic epilepsies display a complex pattern of inheritance, and the identity of the susceptibility genes is largely unknown despite recent advances in molecular biology. However, genetic identifiers of certain types of epilepsy with neurodegenerative characteristics and of a small number of familial idiopathic epilepsies have been uncovered to date. This article reviews recent progress made in molecular genetics of epilepsy, focusing mostly on idiopathic epilepsy together with our own discovery of novel mutations in the genes of autosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy and benign familial neonatal convulsions (BFNCs), and the genetic locus of benign adult familial myoclonic epilepsy. Pathogenesis of epilepsy as a channelopathy and of BFNC also is discussed.

摘要： We present solar wind Fe charge state data measured on the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) from early 1998 to the middle of 2000. Average Fe charge states in the solar wind are typically around 9+ to 11+. However, deviations from these average charge states occur, including intervals with a large fraction of Fegreater than or equal to16+ which are consistently associated with interplanetary coronal mass ejections (ICMEs). By studying the Fe charge state distribution we are able to extract coronal electron temperatures often exceeding 2 X 10(6) kelvins. We also discuss the temporal trends of these events, indicating the more frequent appearance of periods with high Fe charge states as solar activity increases.
