摘要： The widespread acceptance of the World Wide Web makes it the method of choice for publishing online serials. However, concerns ranging from rights management to the long-term integrity of citations are just two of the issues which continue to impede the widespread adoption of such a mode of publication. This paper discusses the history and purposes of Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) as well as the role identifiers will play in the deployment of online serials. Particular attention is paid to development of Uniform Resource Names (URNs), one of the goals of which is to use existing identifier systems, such as ISBNs, ISSNs, and SICIs. The paper describes URN syntax and resolution, then presents some illustrations of how WWW-based publication of online serials might use different forms of URIs. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

摘要： The DIRC is a new type of Cherenkov ring imaging detector, to be used for particle identification in the BaBar detector. The basic concept of DIRC is explained and the design for its use in BaBar is described here. Beam tests have been performed using a prototype DIRC detector and the results are consistent with earlier cosmic ray tests and with Monte Carlo simulations, showing that the DIRC as designed is quite adequate for the particle identification demands of the BaBar experiment The photon yield parameter, Ng, was measured to be (143+/-8) /cm, neglecting attenuation in the DIRC bar, which was measured to be (4.1+/-0.7)%/meter.

摘要： The proposed system adopts neither position nor velocity sensor but uses only measurement of the stator current and stator phase voltage commands to estimate the rotor velocity and to identify the resistance of the stator and rotor for an ac induction motor. In the proposed scheme, the integral variable structure control approach is firstly applied to design an observer and identifier. Also, Lyapunov functions are chosen for determining the adaptive law for a speed estimator and a resistance identifier of an induction motor. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach can achieve accurate speed estimation and resistance identification under load disturbance and motor parameter variation.
