摘要:
A detailed examination of the literature pertaining to subcooled critical heat flux was conducted. Subcooling, system pressure, mss flow rate, system geometry and flou stability were determined to be the inportant parameters in determining critical heat flux. The effect of each of these is discussed in detaii. Various schemes for correlating experimental critical heat flux were subjected to critical examination. Form, content and compari son with experimental data were the bases for evaluation. The correlation of Griffith was found to compare most closely with the experimenta data over a broad range of variables. A linearized correiating equation p操daweloped for the mr,1ou pressure(30 to 90 psia)data, inciuding that determined as part of this study. Sritical heat flux was deternined experimentally for pressyres from 39 to 9o psia, mmss flow rates of 3.69 x 106 to h.76xi06~ lbm/ft2-hr and diameters of o. olu7 to o.2ue inches over the subcooled region, The experimental data obtained is in general agreement with that of other investigations. This low pressure data, when combaned with the results of previous investigations, provides'a airiy colmpiete picture of subcooled critical heat fiux for tubes up to 0.25 inch" diameterA graphical interpclation scheme is presented by which it is possible to obtain predictions of critical heat x which are generally superior to that of the mathematical correlations.
