As a way of studying the decision-making process in theatre translation, one can examine Yasmina Reza's "Art" and its British and American translations, whose stage productions met with huge acclaim in Great Britain and the US. The translator of both texts, Christopher Hampton, chooses a target over a source approach, aiming first and foremost at performance rather than silent reading. This process of "domestication" of the French original for adaptation to the Anglo-Saxon theatrical context is evident in the transpositions of language registers, in the descriptions of the white painting at the heart of the "drama", and in the erasure of the final line's philosophical intent. This last point in particular raises the question of how far a translator can go in terms of domestication without relieving the play of its original complexities.

本文主要借助对加拿大圣力嘉应用艺术与技术学院ESL分级教学特点的简要分析,在深入分析合作办学英语教学现状的基础上,学习借鉴国外教学理念,结合教学工作实践,创新英语教学方式方法,尝试提出更适合中外合作办学的"小班化、分级制"英语教学新模式(Small Class and Ranking System,简称SCRS模式),营造不同于传统的、良好的英语学习氛围和环境,是全面提高合作办学学生英语综合素质和水平的有效途径。
